Horses In Desperate Need of Adoption

Lake County, California-A woman breeding paint Dutch Thoroughbred crosses passed away and her husband didn’t know what to do with her 100 plus horses. Unfortunately, many horses went to kill buyers because he was unaware of the buyers intent. The remaining horses are in desperate need of adoption; please spread the word or contact Deb at 707-995-2716 if you are interested in adopting a horse. There are weanlings, yearlings, three and four year olds, all the way up to mature horses. None of these horses are trained but almost all of them are halter broke and are curious “in your pocket” kind of horses. All are healthy and in good weight. Recent vaccinations and farrier work done. There are about 30 horses: 8 are (now) geldings, the rest are mares. They are warm blood and WB crosses (big!) and most of them have very nice conformation. Some are TB type, others are quite stout. Some are paints but some are solid – all colors. From what Deb’s been told by people who are familiar with this herd, their temperaments are easy to work with. There is an adoption fee.

Hollywood was purchased from Equine Unlimited in May 2009. Hollywood was a surprise birthday present for eleven year old Katelyn Crowley. Hollywood is an eight year old Quarter Pony with a huge personality, sweet disposition and a willingness to please. Hollywood has been shown in a variety of classes from Walk Trot to Pony Medal Finals.

After owning Hollywood for six months Katelyn said, “Hollywood is a fun loving pony with a lot of attitude! If Hollywood was a person she would be one of those really popular high school girls who can get away with anything just by batting their eyes and talking sweetly. For example, when ever she wants a cookie she’ll bob her head up and down and nay, I almost always give in. Over all Hollywood is as sweet as sugar, and cute as a button.”

Hollywood’s owner has sadly outgrown her; Hollywood is available for lease with the possibility to own. Hollywood is a 13.2, buckskin, mare who is currently in half training in Rescue, CA ( 20 miles East of Sacramento). Please call 530-306-0242 for more information.
